La Flechita Roja is a straightforward taco spot tucked into the heart of Zihuatanejo’s Centro, known primarily for authentic, no-frills Mexican tacos. It’s not a sit-down restaurant in the traditional sense – expect to eat standing or take away, as the place lacks tables and fans, which can make midday visits feel a bit warm but no less vibrant.

The appeal here lies in its focused menu and faithful execution of classic tacos like al pastor with that signature roasted pork topped with roasted pineapple and barbacoa stewed beef. The tacos come wrapped in soft corn tortillas and are served alongside a small consomé that locals frequently pour over their tacos, adding a rich, comforting broth element that stands out from typical taquerias. It's a spot that leans into simplicity, refusing to overcomplicate its offerings, which appeals to those craving authentic flavors without fuss.

La Flechita Roja pulses with the everyday rhythm of the neighborhood – this is where locals come for quick, filling meals, gathering by the counter amid the aromas of grilled meat and fresh cilantro. The small space hums with lively chatter and the sounds and scents of traditional Mexican taco-making, which keeps the atmosphere lively despite the minimal seating. If you’re looking for tacos on a budget and don’t mind the bustling stand-up setting, this place delivers solid authenticity.

The best time to visit is likely earlier in the day or early evening when it’s less crowded, and you can savor the distinct flavors without the mid-afternoon heat looming too large. It’s ideal for solo diners, small groups comfortable with standing, and anyone wanting a quick but genuine local taco experience in the center of Zihuatanejo.

The tacos are amazing, the price is very cheap, it's unfortunate that they don't have tables and fans.

This is the original taqueria in Zihuatanejo and whilst it has been renovated it still has that small town charm, full of locals, full of sounds and aromas, and with a stripped-down menu that has worked well for them. I had the classic 3 barbacoa and 3 al pastor tacos with a bottle of Squirt to wash it all down! As good as you’ll ever get!

Very limited menu, which I like! They don't try to do it all, but what they do have is very good and also extremely inexpensive. Great people and food. If you are craving some authentic Mexican tacos its well worth a visit.

Unbelievable experience at taco counters like this one! Pastor (pork roasted on spit) and barbacoa (stewed beef) on open soft corn tortillas with cilantro, onion, lime juice and salsas. Here they added a small roast onion and slice of roast pineapple on the pastor! Get the consome' to pour on! Always forget photos because it tastes so good it's gone!

Best Al Pastor tacos I’ve ever had. I highly recommend you stop by and have a seat with the amazing team here. They are wonderful, polite and friendly. I would recommend lunch or dinner here.

If your looking for authentic, this is your place. We went for the Al Pastor and will be returning before we leave to smash some Barbacoa!
